Age-restricted areas, and how they sit apart from guest floors

Several of the nine properties in this guide include areas reserved for adults, most often a casino floor. Where that is the case we name it plainly in the entry, because a guest reading about a property should know what is on it. In every case the age-restricted area sits apart from the guest floors: a hotel room, a restaurant or a pool does not become age-restricted because another wing of the building holds one.

Why we treat an age-restricted floor as one amenity, not the headline

The reason a guest chooses one of these properties is usually the location, the rooms or the surrounding area. A casino floor, where it exists, is one amenity among many, so we describe it in the same measure as the pool, the dining room or the view. Naming it is our job; treating it as the whole reason to stay would be a distortion, and it would be a distortion in the other direction to pretend it was not there.

Personal limits belong to the visitor
